Old Fort Ruin

Old Fort predates the Gobernador era of the Navajo Indians and was occupied between 800 and 1300 AD. Perhaps somebody can provide some insight about this ruin. It is located on a shelf overlooking Gobernador Canyon. The site resembles a fort more than a traditional ruin with many rooms (hence it's name). There are ruins from a few rooms inside of a large court yard.

Remains from the back wall which showed no signs of an entrance way.

On the other side, overlooking the canyon are the apparent remains of an entrance way. Much of this ruin is suffering from erosion and has not been stabilized by the BLM. I sure wouldn't want to come in through this door unless the occupants wanted to let me in!

There are remains of some very specialized facilities. This must have been a storage area for something?

The remains to a door way... I wonder what used to be on the other side?

One of the rooms found inside of the fort. This one still has some of the timber on the roof and the back wall still contains the "plaster" texture.
